Media Advisory—January Roadmap Meeting 2018.01.25

Council releases interactive data dashboard of progress toward attainment goals

January 25, 2018

Olympia—On Jan. 31, the Council will discuss next steps toward meeting Washington’s statewide attainment goals, established in 2013. That discussion will also include a review of the state’s progress. The 2017 Progress Report on educational attainment found that 90 percent of adults have a high school diploma or equivalent, and 52 percent had a postsecondary credential. Progress made over the last five years is insufficient to meet the goals for adults ages 25 – 44 by 2023:

  • All adults will have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 70 percent will have a postsecondary credential.

The Washington Student Achievement Council now offers an online data dashboard to accompany the report. With interactive tools, the dashboard provides detailed data on the state’s efforts to increase educational attainment.

The meeting will take place at the Capital Events Center in Tumwater from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. Public comment is scheduled at 3:50 p.m.

Meeting materials will be available online the day of the meeting.
