Advisory: December 15 Council Meeting
Council to finalize 2021-23 Strategic Action Plan
Dec. 9, 2020
Olympia—On Tuesday, Dec. 15, the Washington Student Achievement Council will finalize development of the 2021-23 Strategic Action Plan.
The Strategic Action Plan identifies key state policies to increase educational attainment. The plan, informed by diverse stakeholders throughout the state, defines Washington’s strengths and opportunities for improvement in a four-part strategic framework: higher education affordability, student enrollment, student completion of a degree/credential and student supports throughout their educational pathway.
The council first discussed the draft Strategic Action Plan in the Nov. 18 meeting. The Dec. 15 meeting will provide members an opportunity to review plan revisions based on the Nov. 18 council meeting discussion.
The December meeting will also include a review of the council’s equity statement, a commitment to addressing racial inequities in the P-20 pipeline. A dedication to building and fostering an equitable educational system lies at the foundation of the Strategic Action Plan’s proposals.
The public will have opportunities to comment during the meeting. Those who plan to attend should register on Zoom prior.
All meeting materials will be available online on the day of the meeting.
