Advisory: November 18 Council Meeting (2020)
Council to review 2021-23 Strategic Action Plan
November 12, 2020
Olympia—On Wednesday, Nov. 18, the Washington Student Achievement Council will finalize development of the 2021-23 Strategic Action Plan.
The Strategic Action Plan identifies key state policies to increase educational attainment.
The Council will discuss and consider state strategies and policies that will help more students earn a postsecondary credential. The plan, informed by diverse stakeholders throughout the state, identifies Washington’s strengths and opportunities for improvement in a four-part strategic framework: higher education affordability, student enrollment, student completion of a degree/credential and student supports throughout their educational pathway.
Among other agenda items, the November meeting will also include the anticipated council adoption of an equity statement that captures the council’s commitment to addressing racial inequities in the P-20 pipeline. A dedication to building and fostering an equitable educational system lies at the foundation of the Strategic Action Plan’s proposals.
The public will have opportunities to comment during the meeting, and those who plan to attend should register on Zoom prior. TVW is slated to live-stream the meeting. All meeting materials will be available online on the day of the meeting.
