Council to focus on increasing access to postsecondary education in North Central region

Olympia—Local leaders from K-12, postsecondary education, and the public health sector will guide discussion at the Washington Student Achievement Council’s (WSAC) meeting in Quincy on July 10. The council will focus on dual enrollment and ways to improve education access through partnerships with local community networks. 

Representatives from Big Bend Community College, Wenatchee Valley College, Quincy High School, and Apple STEM Network will inform a discussion about how to support dual enrollment in the North Central Region. 

The Council will also hear from Mary Jo Ybarra, of Promotores de Salud at the Quincy Community Health Center. Ybarra will share how the health care sector is using local community networks to improve access to care. The Council will discuss how some of these strategies could transfer to K-12 and postsecondary education.

The meeting will take place on July 10 between 8:30 a.m. and 1:45 p.m. at the Cave B Inn. Public comment will begin at 1:30 p.m.
