Council to discuss strategic framework in pursuit of increased educational attainment

Olympia— The Apr. 17 council meeting will feature a discussion on the Council’s proposed strategic framework to increase educational attainment. Four strategic clusters define the current framework:

  1. Affordability
  2. Student support
  3. Enrollment (including K-12 and adult)
  4. Completion (including dual credit)

Discussion of the strategic clusters will include a review of possible metrics that could serve as indicators of the state’s progress towards the educational attainment goals. Members will also begin to identify priority projects, intended to focus the agency’s efforts on high-impact initiatives.

The Apr. 17 agenda also includes a presentation from the Chancellor Mel Netzhammer of Washington State University—Vancouver (WSU Vancouver. Netzhammer will highlight WSU Vancouver’s efforts to expand access to higher education and to support students through completion of their diploma or credential.

The meeting will take place on Apr. 17 between 9 a.m. and 1:15 p.m. at WSU Vancouver. Public comment will begin at 1:00 p.m.
