Council to discuss 2027 Strategic Action Plan and WSAC’s work with regional partners
May 5, 2026
Olympia—The Washington Student Achievement Council (WSAC) will meet on May 12 to discuss and approve the 2027 Strategic Action Plan (SAP). Equity remains the central focus in all components of the SAP. It includes specific strategies for each focus area: enrollment, affordability, basic needs, completion and regional partnerships. The plan will continue to explore the inequities that affect learners when accessing and succeeding in education. The SAP aims to move Washington toward the goal of having 70% of adults earn a credential beyond high school.
This meeting will take place at Centralia College on May 12 at 9 a.m. Formal public comment will begin at 2:30 p.m. A hybrid option is also available, with online registration required to attend via Zoom.
The day before the meeting, council members will meet with representatives and leaders from Chehalis School District, W.F. West High School, Centralia College and the Chehalis Foundation, among others, to discuss their continued collaborations. They will focus on their partnerships with Student Achievement and Cornerstone as they work together to increase attainment.
WSAC will present updates from the Washington Completes FAFSA campaign and the 2026 legislative session. Staff will share an update on the Regional Challenge Grant investment and make funding recommendations based on the 2026 reapplication process.
To conclude the meeting, the council will focus on student success. Learners are increasingly mobile and often gain valuable experience and knowledge outside of traditional postsecondary settings. The council will discuss ways to improve credit mobility to help learners enroll and complete credentials.
