AmeriCorps is a national service program that allows people of all ages and backgrounds to earn money for college in return for a year of community service.

AmeriCorps members can work before, during, or after college and use the money either to pay education expenses or to repay federal student loans. Members meet community needs with services ranging from renovating houses and teaching English to policing neighborhoods and restoring salmon habitats.
