Site Information

The 2013 Site Application is open; however, due to a reduction in program funding, only sites that meet the federal criteria may apply.  Exception: Western State Hospital may apply through the HPLR Program for Psychiatrists and Nurse Practitioners. See detailed information in HPLRP section.

To be eligible, the site must either be located in a Federal Health Professional Shortage Area (HPSA) or have a HPSA designation.  To find out if your site qualifies go to: www.doh.wa.gov/hsqa/ocrh/hpsa/hpsa1.htm. 

Please note:

  • In addition to the site meeting the HPSA requirement, the site must also have an implemented and posted Sliding Fee Discount Fee Schedule. 
  • Previous eligible sites must reapply each year to be eligible to be listed the current year’s eligible site list.
  • If your organization has multiple clinics/locations, each individual site must submit a separate application.

The Site . . .

- may apply for multiple professions.

- may apply for both recruitment and retention.

- must submit the application online by the deadline date.

- application is reviewed, scored and ranked by profession.

- application and profession must be approved prior to the provider being eligible to apply.

Both the site application and provider application is a competitive process.  Not all who apply will be approved or awarded.

The Department of Health, in coordination with the Washington Student Achievement Council, oversees the site application process.  To access the online application, click here: https://fortress.wa.gov/hecb/portal/ - click on register.  

If you have submitted an online site application previously, enter your email address and password to login and access your site application.  If you forgot your password, click on the link to reset your password. Please note, you will not be able to access the application when the cycle is not open.
