Rai Nauman Mumtaz, Student Member

Rai Nauman Mumtaz is a graduate student at the University of Washington Tacoma (UWT) in his final year of a Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies program. He also is entering his second year of medical school at the International University of Health Sciences School of Medicine, and will return to a Master of Public Health Degree program at A.T. Still University School of Health Management in the fall of 2014.
Previously at UWT, Nauman has completed a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science and a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences. He completed his Associate of Science Degree at Pierce College and received his high school diploma from Curtis Senior High School in University Place, WA.
Nauman has been, and remains, involved in a variety of organizations at UWT and the campus community serving on the Provost Advisory Committee for Students, as a UW Tri-Campus Committee Voting Member, within ASUWT Student Government as President, Vice President for 2 years, Senate Chair Pro-Tempore, Senator, and as a Committee Member. Nauman also served on a variety of student committees and as an officer for a multitude of registered student organizations. Beyond his involvement as a student, Nauman is an active member of the UWT Alumni Council and Graduate Washington Political Action Committee.
He was humbled to be selected as a UW student Regent finalist in both 2012 and 2013, to the UW Homecoming Court in 2011 for the 150th Anniversary, as UWT’s Student Choice: Outstanding Student Leader of the Year in 2011; and is a proud member of both the Golden Key International Honor Society and Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society. Beyond his work and academia, Nauman loves to spend time with family and friends, travel, watch and play sports, and is an avid Disney fan.
